Chicago Bassist Patrick Mulcahy Joins Altered Stage As Director, Bass Guitar Instruction
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) December 19, 2016 -- Altered Stage, Chicago’s only private club for non-professional musicians, today announced the appointment of accomplished Chicago bassist Patrick Mulcahy as Director, Bass Guitar Instruction. In this role, Mulcahy will share his knowledge of music and bass guitar with Chicagoland business professionals and other amateur musicians of all skill levels.
Located in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, Altered Stage is a unique private club that focuses on providing a complete and perpetual music experience for people who’ve chosen careers in professions other than music. The club’s goal is to create and foster a vibrant community of like-minded individuals of all musical skill levels – from absolute beginner to advanced – who share a passion for making music and enhancing their personal and professional growth and creativity. The club provides ongoing music instruction, holds regular group jam sessions and quarterly gigs at known Chicago venues, runs corporate team-building programs, and works with members to write and publish music through the club’s Altered Records label.
Mulcahy has been playing bass professionally for more than ten years and has shared the stage with Grammy-winning artists David Sanchez and Renee Fleming, in addition to a host of other notable artists including Patricia Barber, Fareed Haque, Gilad Hekselman, and Ari Hoenig. In addition to touring worldwide, Mulcahy has been teaching bass guitar for more than a decade.
“Aside from being one of the very best bassists in the Midwest, Patrick is among the most approachable and down-to-earth people you’ll ever meet. He brings this approach to life into his teaching style and we are fortunate to have him as part of our already strong staff of instructors,” said Jeff Bergau, founder of Altered Stage. “We created Altered Stage as a unique platform for business professionals to express themselves, follow their passion for music, and enhance personal and professional growth. Patrick’s instruction approach will excite and inspire our amateur musician members of all skill levels.”
“I’ve always loved teaching aspiring bassists, and the Altered Stage approach creates a unique instruction opportunity for members,” said Mulcahy. “By putting what’s learned into practice by playing with others early on, Altered Stage bass members can accelerate their progress in a fun and interactive way. I’m thrilled to be part of this cool and dynamic community.”
