Chicago’s Top Foreign Language School for Kids Celebrates the Opening of Its Fifteenth Chicago Location
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 07, 2014 -- Language Stars, the national leader in teaching foreign language to kids, celebrated the Grand Opening of a new location on the north side of the Chicago, in the Andersonville Community. The grand opening week-long celebration was a great success and culminated with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring Language Stars Founder, Leslie Lancry, 47th Ward Alderman Ameya Pawar and Andersonville Chamber of Commerce Representative, Jason Cox. “The Andersonville Center is the culmination of hard work by our great team in helping to spread a positive foreign language experience to many eager children across Chicago,” says Lancry, “It’s the ongoing mission of ours to change when and how children learn a foreign language to help foster the future generation of multilingual Americans.”
During the event, many local families took advantage of the chance to participate in the play-based foreign language immersion activities including Twister in Spanish, French Interactive storytime and Paper Lantern making in Mandarin Chinese taught by native speaking teachers. Language Stars also featured local children’s entertainer Little Miss Ann, who sang with the children in Spanish and English. In addition to the activities, refreshments were provided by many neighborhood restaurants to provide families with a taste of the culture that is part of speaking another language. Language Stars also raffled off one year of tuition to celebrate the grand opening to one lucky winner.
"It was exciting to see such support from the Andersonville community," says Language Stars CEO, Jamie Davidson. “Our corporate headquarters is also located in Chicago, which gave us the opportunity to take a very hands-on role in the development of this new center and build an even stronger relationship with the community.” The new Andersonville center is one of 15 locations in the Chicagoland area, where children age 1 – 10 can learn a language naturally and easily, focusing on the window of opportunity, when a child’s brain is hard-wired to learn language. We hope that more families on the north side of Chicago will take advantage of our full immersion programs to give their children the gift of learning a foreign language.
