Chicagoland Methodist Senior Services Announces 2014 Event Lineup
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) January 29, 2014 -- Chicagoland Methodist Senior Services today announced its lineup of 2014 events intended to enrich the lives of Chicago’s older adults and their caregivers.
The number of Chicago residents aged 65 and older is expected to double by 2040, and the elderly demographic boom is leaving both older adults and their younger caregivers struggling to find the resources they need to handle the challenges and transitions that come with aging.
In response, CMSS has planned a series of free and low-cost events for seniors and their families, including technology training classes, dementia support groups and seminars on avoiding legal challenges commonly faced by elderly people.
"We’re excited to continue to serve as a valuable resource for older adults and their caregivers in Chicago," said Bill Lowe, President of CMSS. "Our events provide a fantastic way to connect with the community at all ages and stages, and allow us to provide needed support through the aging process."
CMSS is the most extensive network of senior services on Chicago’s north side, and has served the community for 115 years. 2014 represents the most robust selection of free and low-cost community programming offered by the organization to date.
"This year’s event calendar has something for everyone, whether you’re an independent senior who wants to learn how to use Facebook, or a caregiver who is considering supportive living solutions for an elderly parent," said Karoline Hutson, Communications Specialist for CMSS.
