Chicken Brands Announce Winners of 2016 Consumer Recipe Contest
MILFORD, IND. (PRWEB) November 30, 2016 -- Milford Valley and Sandra’s brands have selected the top prize winners in their 2016 recipe contests. The two contests challenged home cooks to experiment in the kitchen and develop original recipes featuring either Milford Valley or Sandra’s chicken products. Participants from across the United States submitted recipes from a wide range of cuisines, including enchiladas, poutine and pastries, showcasing the versatility of the brands’ chicken products.
Each contest offered a $2,000 Grand Prize, $1,000 First Runner-Up award and $500 Second Runner-Up award. All entries were evaluated by a panel of judges based on recipe and preparation, originality and creativity, flavor and visual appeal to select the winning dishes.
In the Milford Valley contest, Sherry Kozlowski of Morgantown, West Virginia, took the Grand Prize with her Chicken Enchiladas (Milford Valley Stuffed Buffalo Chicken Minis). Daniel Miller of Winona Lake, Indiana, received the First Runner-Up award for his Buffalo Chicken Pastry with Buffalo Ranch Sauce (Milford Valley Buffalo Style Chicken Strips). Cheryl Holsapfel from Garrettsville, Ohio, was the Second Runner-Up with her Maple Bacon Jalapeno Pops (Milford Valley Stuffed Jalapeno Chicken Minis).
In the Sandra’s contest, Melanie Terwilliger of Tulsa, Oklahoma, won the Grand Prize with her Creamy Jalapeno Chicken and Artichoke Bites (Sandra’s Chicken, Creamy Jalapeno). The First Runner-Up was Amber Mayhugh from Washington, West Virginia, with her Parmesan Sauced Cordon Bleu and Pineapple Pizza (Sandra’s Chicken Cordon Bleu). Debbie Reid of Clearwater, Florida, received the Second Runner-Up award for her Chicken Broccoli and Swiss Waffle Fry Poutine (Sandra’s Chicken, Broccoli and Swiss).
Winning recipes will be featured in short, how-to cooking videos that highlight new ways to enjoy Milford Valley and Sandra’s chicken products. “Our products are easy to incorporate in a variety of recipes,” said Carmen Darland, Milford Valley/Sandra’s marketing director. “This contest was a great opportunity for consumers to think outside the box and get inspired to create new dishes with our frozen chicken products. We look forward to sharing the recipe videos in the months to come.”
