Chief Learning Officer Announces New Limitations on Vendor Attendance at Events
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 05, 2017 -- In response to feedback from many senior leaders in workforce development, Chief Learning Officer magazine is eliminating the opportunity for non-sponsoring vendors to register for its industry-leading, education-focused live conferences and events. Effective immediately, registration for the CLO Symposium, Symposium+PLUS and CLO Breakfast Club Series will be open exclusively to practitioners and a limited number of sponsors with clearly defined roles.
“Chief Learning Officer has a long history as a trusted resource for independent, relevant and objective content un-influenced by advertising or sponsorships,” said Mike Prokopeak, vice president and editor in chief of Human Capital Media (HCM), which publishes the magazine. “That has never changed. But as the popularity and reputation of our events increased over the last decade, the industry-vendor ratio of attendees became unbalanced. This new policy will restore that balance and assure that every live CLO event offers a respectful, relaxed environment where active professionals can network, learn from one another and have frank discussions about what is happening in their industry, organizations and careers.”
The decision, according to Kevin Fields, HCM director of business development for events, is a positive step for both industry practitioners and vendors. It is “a strategic move designed to differentiate CLO’s live events by creating a safe place where attendees can interact and share valuable knowledge freely and sponsors can realize the most impact from their investment.”
HCM also announced key dates on the magazine’s upcoming live events calendar.
