Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) Receives Recognition from the Mid-America Economic Development Council (MAEDC)
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) December 20, 2013 -- The Mid-America Economic Development Council (MAEDC) presented its annual Economic Development Awards at the 2013 Mid-America Competitiveness Conference & Site Selector Forum, held December 8-10 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Chicago. Award entries were accepted in two markets per category – large market and small market. Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) was honored to accept “The Best of the Midwest” award for the category of Annual Report. CCEDC took home this first place award in the small market division for the 2012-13 Annual Report. Charlie Walker, President/CEO, attended the conference and accepted the awards on behalf of CCEDC.

The annual report represents CCEDC’s identity & serves as an overview of the organization. It reveals major accomplishments in the areas of Business Development, Business Retention & Expansion, Entrepreneurialism, Government Efforts, Marketing & Communications, Regional Efforts & other successes. The annual report provides accountability of the corporation to its stakeholders by not only reporting on the programs & finances but by highlighting benchmarks as well.
CCEDC’s annual report serves as an effective internal marketing tools. It successfully assists in recruiting new companies to the area by its extensive circulation. It becomes a collector’s item for board members, businesses & organizations that are listed or featured within. All of these factors contribute to the annual report meeting the CCEDC’s work plan marketing goal to build awareness & support for Chippewa County both locally & within its target markets as the place to do business in Western Wisconsin.
The Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation also received a Gold Excellence in Economic Development Award for its 2012-13 Annual Report for communities with populations of 25,000 - 200,000 from the International Economic Development Council(IEDC) on October 8th during the IEDC Annual Conference held in Philadelphia. Bennett Syverson, Creative Director, Ady Voltedge accepted the award on behalf of the CCEDC

The MAEDC is a multi-state association dedicated to being the leading resource for education, making connections, and sharing best practices for economic development professionals. MAEDC is dedicated to enhancing economic developers' knowledge, capabilities and opportunities through multi-state networking, education, and site selector interaction. For many years, MAEDC has sponsored the annual Economic Development Awards competition to recognize and stimulate the creative use of quality marketing by economic development organizations throughout the ten-state Mid-America region in promoting their respective communities.
