ChopChop Kids and the National WIC Association Join Forces to Provide a New Magazine Series: ChopChop Sprout to WIC Offices Around the Country
Belmont, MA (PRWEB) October 11, 2017 -- ChopChop Kids, the non-profit behind the award-winning ChopChop: The Fun Cooking Magazine for Families has partnered with the National WIC Association (NWA) to offer ChopChop Sprout, a new magazine for WIC participants. Published in English and Spanish, each 24-page volume offers practical cooking advice, ethnically diverse recipes using WIC ingredients, cost-saving tips, and ideas for cooking with kids. NWA is providing technical review to ensure that the latest and most accurate WIC client-centered nutrition information is presented.
“Our goal is to help WIC-eligible families feel confident about cooking affordable, healthy meals for their children,” said Sally Sampson, Founder and President of ChopChop Kids. “We know it can be challenging to cook healthy meals on a budget, especially for mothers with young children. Prior to launching ChopChop Sprout, ChopChop published eight special WIC editions from 2015- 2017. Over the past two years, ChopChop collected feedback from state and local WIC offices around the country. As a result, ChopChop made several enhancements to the publication before launching ChopChop Sprout. Each of the four evergreen 24-page volumes include step-by-step recipes and essential “How-To’s”, such as “how to build a pantry on a budget” and “how-to gather essential kitchen equipment.”
ChopChop currently has several state-sponsored programs for ChopChop’s Sprout. ChopChop Sprout is also distributed through many local and tribal WIC offices and clinics throughout the US.
