Chris Humphrey Insurance Agency Launches Charity Drive to Support Local Grandfather with Mechanical Heart
Goldsboro, NC (PRWEB) September 17, 2015 -- Chris Humphrey Insurance Agency, a locally owned insurance firm with offices serving Goldsboro, Kinston, and the surrounding communities, is initiating a charity drive to raise funds that will be used to support Mr. Jimmy Cowan, a local husband, father, and grandfather who is struggling with advanced chronic heart disease.
Jimmy Cowan was diagnosed with advanced end-stage heart failure in December of last year. In February of this year, Jimmy underwent an operation to receive a left ventricular assist device (LVAD), which serves as a mechanical heart. The costs associated with this operation were significant, however, and the Cowan family is experiencing extreme financial duress during this tragic time.
“Jimmy is a loving husband and grandfather, and he needs our help,” says Chris Humphrey, owner and manager of Chris Humphrey Insurance Agency. “By coming together and offering our support, I know our community can help the Cowan family through this difficult time.”
The Chris Humphrey Insurance team is already hard at work contacting friends, business associates, and clients in an effort to raise funds that will be used to lighten the burden on the Cowan family. The team is also constructing a social media site to gather support from surrounding communities and from families across the nation.
Jimmy Cowan is only the latest of many local causes championed by the Chris Humphrey Agency. Over a dozen charities and organizations have benefitted from an ongoing community involvement campaign the Humphrey Agency refers to as “Agents of Change.” Moreover, Humphrey himself has committed to continuing this campaign and to assisting a new local charitable cause every 30-60 days.
