Christ Presbyterian Church to Host Party on the Lawn This Sunday
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) September 23, 2015 -- Christ Presbyterian Church is a church that loves a great party. This fall, on September 27 at 11:00 a.m., CPC will host Party on the Lawn, the church’s biggest party of the year. Tag-lined “#ForOurCity,” Party on the Lawn is an event for the entire Brentwood/Franklin/Nashville area. One worship service will be held on September 27 at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome to join.
“Party on the Lawn is all about connecting our members and regular attendees with others in the community,” says Ken Leggett, Pastor of Missional Living. “It’s not necessarily a time to join the church or jump into a CORE class; rather, Party on the Lawn is a casual and fun opportunity to visit with friends, meet new neighbors, and celebrate the communities that have been formed through the Gospel.”
This year’s Party on the Lawn will feature a wide range of activities for guests of all ages and interests, including food trucks, live music, a car show, cyclocross race, homemade ice cream contest, outdoor games, horses, inflatables for kids, and much more. Free grilled hot dogs will be provided for kids. Check it all out at http://www.christpres.org/party.
Last year’s Party on the Lawn elicited these comments:
“Thank You! I heard story after story of visitors, guests, members, long time attenders – HAVING FUN! Very appreciative of the hospitality and love that went into the day!”
“What a wonderful party… You’ve outdone yourselves this time!”
“Party was awesome! Made me so excited to be on our staff!”
“Parties are central to the life of our church,” says Senior Pastor Scott Sauls. “We have two big parties each year – Party on the Lawn in September and Community Christmas in December. In reading the Bible, you’ll find that parties are a dominant theme throughout. Jesus’ first miracle was providing a second round of wine at a wedding feast. He’s constantly showing up at parties and dinners in the Gospels. And we also know history will end with a grand wedding feast. Parties are important to God and to his people. That’s why we celebrate so often.”
Party on the Lawn is one of several “public faith” initiatives Christ Presbyterian Church will launch this fall. In addition to Party on the Lawn, the church will host Q Commons (Sept. 24), a national event discussing cultural questions that matter, and a six-week Connect Groups series on the integration of faith and work. On October 4, Christ Presbyterian will launch CPC Intown, a new church location in Wightman Chapel at Scarritt Bennett Center.
