Christians for Biblical Equality President to teach on women and Christianity at Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) February 29, 2016 -- Christians for Biblical Equality (CBE) and the Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies will partner to bring CBE’s president, Dr. Mimi Haddad, to a doctoral colloquium, where she will lecture on women in Christian history and theology. The event will be held November 7–12, 2016 in Anza, California.
Dr. Haddad’s lectures will be based on Haddad’s Fuller Seminary class, Women in Church History and Theology. The course is an introduction to the leadership, theological contributions, and experiences of women from the Old Testament to the twentieth century. The class will consider the historical, theological, and philosophical assumptions that limited or affirmed women’s participation in church and religious life in different eras.
“I am eager to join Zinzendorf for the first time at this important colloquium” said Dr. Haddad. “Far too many PhD and DMin students graduate without engaging critically with the history of the church’s relationship with women’s gifts and calling, and its consequences to the gospel and social justice. I salute Zinzendorf for recognizing the importance of educating its students in this vital area.”
Haddad has taught her class, Women in Church History and Theology, in 2014 and 2015, at Fuller Seminary’s Houston, TX campus and will teach it at Fuller’s Colorado Springs campus this spring. This will be CBE’s first time partnering with Zinzendorf. Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies is part of Olivet University, based in Riverside, CA.
In its effort to advance a biblical foundation for gift-based rather than gender-based ministry and service, CBE sponsors annual conferences, facilitates local chapters, hosts an online bookstore, and publishes two award-winning journals. For more information, visit http://www.cbeinternational.org.
