Christians for Biblical Equality to Live-Stream Opening Night of Its 2017 Conference
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) September 13, 2016 -- Christians for Biblical Equality (CBE) is pleased to announce that the opening night of its conference, “Truth be Told: Speaking Out Against Gender Based Violence” will be live-streamed at no cost.
“Truth be Told” was designed to challenge the theological underpinnings of gender-based violence. “The egalitarian message that God created women and men with equal worth and intended no gender-based hierarchy among humans, is critical to addressing gender-based violence. Too often, violence is rooted by a belief that women ought to be subservient to men and men’s desires, and this belief is often justified by a misunderstanding of the Bible” says CBE’s conference coordinator, Priscilla Her.
Her also reports that this will be CBE’s most-attended conference to date, with over 2,000 attendees registered, in addition to online viewers.
If the speaker lineup is any indication, viewers will not be disappointed. Speakers for the opening session include Rhema Bible Church founder and senior pastor Ray McCauley and Thuli Madonsela, the Public Protector of South Africa. Madonsela was among Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people in 2014 and helped craft South Africa’s constitution.
“Truth be Told” is hosted in partnership with CBE-South Africa and Gender Equality Matters in Africa, and will take place on the campus of Rhema Bible Church in Johannesburg, South Africa. The opening night session will stream live, at no cost, on the RhemaTV website, Wednesday, September 14, at 7:30 pm South Africa time (12:30 pm US Central Time).
In its effort to advance a biblical foundation for gift-based rather than gender-based ministry and service, CBE sponsors annual conferences, facilitates local chapters, hosts an online bookstore, and publishes two award-winning journals. For more information, visit http://www.cbeinternational.org.
