Christians for Biblical Equality Wins Publishing Awards
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) April 15, 2015 -- Christians for Biblical Equality (CBE) has been awarded four Higher Goals in Christian Journalism awards from the Evangelical Press Association (EPA). This year’s awards recognize excellence in Christian publishing in 2014, and the winners were announced at EPA’s 2015 convention, held April 8—10 in Denver, Colorado.
Priscilla Papers, CBE’s academic journal, was recognized with three awards. “The Book of Ruth as an Exemplar for Faith Communities” by Samuel C. Long took second place in the Student Writer of the Year category; “Mother and a Grave,” by H. Edgar Hix won fourth place in Poetry; and “Madame Talent” by Gilbert Bilezikian won fourth place in the Personality Article category.
Mutuality, CBE’s magazine, was recognized with one award in 2015. Jenny Rae Armstrong’s article “On Being a Woman After God’s Own Heart” took fourth place in the General Article: Medium category.
To date, Priscilla Papers and Mutuality have each been awarded seventeen awards by the EPA. “CBE’s community of scholars and activists have long produced strong content, expounding on the biblical ideal of women and men serving and leading as equals, and exploring the implications of this ideal in daily life. In 2014, we continued to build on this tradition, and we are thrilled to see our writers recognized by the Christian publishing community,” said Tim Krueger, CBE’s publications and communications manager.
“We are especially proud to see Priscilla Papers honored with three awards for its work in 2014, the year of Dr. Bill Spencer’s retirement after ten years as editor. Two of the winning articles were published with Spencer at the helm, and another was under the leadership of Dr. Jeff Miller, Priscilla Papers’ new editor. These awards reflect the years of skill and dedication Spencer has poured into the journal, as well as strong leadership of Miller and his team” added Mimi Haddad, CBE’s president.
CBE hosts all of its articles on its website, and all award-winning articles, including those from 2014, are available for free.
