Christie Medical Holdings Hosting Symposium on NIR for Peripheral Venous Access, Displaying VeinViewer Technology, at AVA 2016 Annual Scientific Meeting
Lake Buena Vista, Florida (PRWEB) September 16, 2016 -- Christie Medical Holdings, the leader in near infrared vein finding technology, will be exhibiting at the AVA 2016 30th Annual Scientific Meeting at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, September 16-19. On Friday September 16 between 12-2 p.m. attendees will have the opportunity to attend the “Cutting Edge Advantage of Near Infrared for Peripheral Venous Access” symposium, presented by Christie Medical Holdings.
Led by Dr. Gregory Schears, the symposium will provide a forum for clinicians to utilize VeinViewer technology in hands-on training. Participants will discover how near infrared (NIR) vein visualization can improve peripheral venous access, positively affecting the patient experience and clinical outcomes. Attendees will practice NIR guided PIV insertion using vein simulators, learn how to easily identify valves and other venous obstacles, distinguish good veins from bad, and identify optimal IV sites. Participants may also earn continuing education credits.
“Christie is pleased to bring VeinViewer technology to the AVA 2016 Annual Scientific Meeting,” says George Pinho, president, Christie Medical Holdings. “Attendees will have the chance to learn about VeinViewer and how it can improve vascular access and the overall patient experience – while lowering the cost of care.”
VeinViewer® technology will be on display at the Christie Medical Holdings booth No. 206, where attendees can see demonstrations of this leading vascular visualization technology. Using near infrared light to create a real-time digital image of patient veins on the skin, VeinViewer lets clinicians see peripheral veins up to 10mm deep and blood patterns up to 15mm deep while also locating valves and bifurcations to aid in determining the point of insertion. VeinViewer reduces the time needed for IV insertion, reduces the use of PICCs by up to 30 percent, and improves first stick success rates by up to 100 percent when placing an IV catheter.
