Christie Projection Mapping Technology Helps On Projeções Create an Exceptional Visual Experience for Cruzeiro Football Club in Brazil
São Paulo, Brazil (PRWEB) July 07, 2016 -- Christie® 3DLP® projectors played an instrumental role in a mapping projection on the esplanade of the Mineirão stadium in Belo Horizonte, the capital of the Minas Gerais state, for the launch of the new team shirt of Cruzeiro, one of Brazil’s most successful football clubs. Christie’s trusted partner On Projeções undertook the role of installation and operation of the projection system for this exceptional visual experience, which was designed and produced by the agency MIR.
In partnership with the English sportswear and football equipment supplier Umbro, the club gathered together hundreds of fans at the Mineirão esplanade for the presentation of the new shirt. Dede and Alisson, two of the club’s main stars, were chosen as the models to wear the shirt in a show full of visual effects.
The canvas consisted of a group of ten containers put together, which covered an area of 18 metres long by 8 meters high, with Christie projectors painting it beautifully with lifelike images that complemented the showing of the footballers wearing the new shirt. The agency OBJ Design was in charge of the set design of the whole event.
The story line of the mapping was based around the mascot of the team as well as the symbols of both the club and the equipment supplier that were displayed on the projection surface using two ceiling-mounted Christie 3DLP projectors operating at
2K resolution, each boasting an impressive brightness of 30,000 ANSI lumens.
The Christie projectors were selected due to their ability to clearly display images with great detail in high resolutions and produce the bright and vibrant images needed for the show. “The 3DLP technology advantages such as long-lasting brightness, accurate color reproduction, image quality and reliability make it the perfect projection solution to make this show a success,” said Luciana Barcellos, managing director in On Projeções.
The projectors were installed together on a structure 3 meters high at a throw distance of 28 meters. With a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and an aspect ratio of 1.77, the contents were launched from a Mac Pro using Resolume Arena 5 media server.
All agreed that the mapping was a resounding success and the performance of the Christie projectors was impressive. “Our customer and the final client were delighted with the result of the projection, which provided an event full of emotion and good vibrations”, explained Luciana Barcellos.
Speaking of the Christie projectors, Barcellos added: “We have been using these units for about seven years now and their quality image is the same as if they were brand new. They are very reliable and strong enough to support rental-staging events. And also Christie’s post sales service in Brazil is very prompt, and we are regularly provided with spare parts, also for discontinued products.”
Clayton Brito, Christie’s Country Manager in Brazil, commented: “We are honored that our 3DLP projectors were selected for use in this event. At the same time, we’re very pleased to work closely with our valued partner On Projeções. They have once again proved their capabilities for delivering impressive mapping projections.”
Brito added that “Christie high quality and reliable 3DLP projectors are powering some of today's most amazing projection mapping displays in Brazil. A wide choice of resolutions and brightness levels let our customers project rich, evocative displays on almost any structure to deliver memorable experiences for many audience.”
