Chuck's Furniture to Give Scholarships to Monongalia County High Schools
Morgantown, WV (PRWEB) September 20, 2013 -- Chuck's Furniture of Morgantown, West Virginia is proud to announce that it will be offering three scholarships to students in Monongalia county. One student each from University High School, Morgantown High School and Clay-Battelle High School will be chosen. Any graduating senior that has an interest in pursuing a career related to business or design at West Virginia University will be eligible.
Being a local, family owned business for over 40 years, Chuck's understands the responsibility to give back to the community. "We understand that our customers have been instrumental in our success. We have a relationship with our community and we want to not only give them a good product but offer more," says James Prutilpac, the third generation in the Chuck's family.
As the cost of education continues to soar, students are graduating with more and more debt. At the same time, the necessity of having a degree, and many times and advanced degree, puts high school seniors in a tough position. In the lagging economy, many parents have less money to put towards their children’s education. Whether to risk putting large amounts of money that doesn’t guarantee a job can be a frightening situation.
James believes that “by helping local students, even just fractionally, we we can make a difference. Not only in their lives but also in West Virginia. We might be helping a kid choose to go to college. By using this money at West Virginia University, we can also keep talented people here.”
Students and parents can get more information about the scholarship from their school's guidance counselor.
