Cigar Advisor Publishes Article On Cigar Ratings
Easton, PA (PRWEB) July 20, 2013 -- The all-new Cigar Advisor is an online cigar magazine that brings a fresh, irreverent, and down-to-earth perspective on all things cigars to thousands of smokers. In addition to educational cigar content and behind-the-scenes cigar industry articles from some of the business’s top names, Cigar Advisor delivers an array of content about a variety of topics of interest to people who enjoy the cigar lifestyle. The magazine also features cigar reviews and ratings submitted by real smokers. Cigar Advisor has just published a new article on cigar ratings, and using those ratings to find a good value when purchasing cigars.
"To me, when a product scores and deserves an 89, I have usually found it to be nothing less than 'Very Very Good,'" writes wine connoisseur and Cigar Advisor contributor Larry Tepper. "Short of 'Outstanding,' mind you, but distinctly a whole lot better than just 'Very Good.' The make or break point -- for wines especially -- and in many cases, cigars too, is 89. I hold that number to be in a class by itself."
Larry admits in his piece ("The Magic Number: 89”), he loves a bargain – especially when it comes to wine, and even more so on cigars. When superb examples are found, he argues, they (wine or cigars) can be enjoyed right away and an additional quantity can be tucked away, later to be observed to have improved, often dramatically, with age.
Tepper illustrates his advice via popular ranking systems: “Most rating systems list 80-84 as 'Good,' 85-89 as 'Very Good,' and 90 and above as 'Outstanding,' with the stratospheric 95-on-up band noted as 'Classic.' I couldn't agree more with it all, except for 89." He adds, “one may obtain dependably 'Outstanding' quality by only buying wines and cigars in the, let's say, 94 and above range. Generally, you will not be disappointed, but you will be either a) wealthy enough so price doesn't matter, or b) flat broke because you just spent all your money on first class wine and hard-to-get cigars."
But how does one find a true bargain, Tepper asks. To him, the answer is his Magic Number: "Look for an 89."
