Cigar Advisor Publishes Guide for Beginner Cigar Smokers

Yow first suggests thinking about which cigars you've enjoyed, and then searching the internet for reviews, and finding similar reviews of other cigars to try. Another suggestion is visiting the "newbie" threads of the various cigar smoking internet forums for suggestions on cigars to try, or where to obtain those cigars at favorable prices.
He further suggests a trip to the local retail smoke shop to solicit suggestions from patrons or tobacconists. He cautions against making this trip wholly unprepared, however; armed with the knowledge of what a customer has enjoyed or not and why, they will be able to provide better-tailored recommendations.
"In my experience, a lot of people get turned off of cigars because there is so much information to know. I feel that it's important to not be overwhelmed," Yow said of writing the piece, "No one knows everything there is to know about cigars. Even cigar makers will tell you that they learn something every day," he added.
