Cindy Taylor Releases 'Sniffers and Kate'
Lyman, Wyo. (PRWEB) February 10, 2015 -- Author Cindy Taylor believes that literature is one of the most effective ways to ingrain moral lessons and promote value learning in children. However, such books are becoming a rare find in today's children's literature sections. Hoping to share the beauty of what stories can do, she pens "Sniffers and Kate" (published by Xlibris), a moving heart-and-soul story of human and canine bond, true friendship and remarkable adventures suffused with timeless values and vibrant life lessons.
Meet Kate Walker, an impetuous ten-year-old tomboy; her friend, Jake; and her incredible dog, Sniffers. Together, they embark on an adventurous summer of love and laughter, friendship and family, honesty, sorrow, change and even death. Set in a small country town in the 1950s, young readers are taken back to a time where real friendships blossom and prosper through the most authentic experience and adventure.
Excerpt from "Sniffers and Kate:"
“You are a lucky girl, Kate,” Mom said, stroking Kate’s hair off her forehead. “I can’t believe it. This is the second time you have cheated death. You must be more than lucky. You must be very special. You must have something very important to do in this life.” Mom’s words poured over Kate like a warm blanket. She was special. She did have something important to do. The words rang true and soothed her like the warming rays of the sun after a cold rain.
Poignant and exciting, "Sniffers and Kate" aims to preserve the values that are gradually diminishing in this day and age. Children will learn as little Kate did from her beloved grandfather—"there are great wonders in this world; you just need to know where to look."

About the Author
When asked what Cindy Taylor wanted to be when she grew up, she always said, “I want to be a mom with ten kids and live on a ranch with a horse and dog for each kid.” When things did not work out exactly as she planned, having only been blessed with one child, she became a foster parent for 12 years, caring for some 30 additional children. In time, she and her husband, David, added more to their family by adopting three boys. Eventually, Taylor went back to school to get her degree in elementary education. She said, “If I can’t have a house full of kids, I’ll have a classroom full.” She helped found a small private Christian school, where students could include God and morality in their education. Now Taylor has found a new way to reach out to even more children. As an author, Taylor aspires to be an influence for good in a world that she believes has too few uplifting and inspiring novels for children. She hopes to integrate life lessons and experiences into fun, captivating stories that children and families can enjoy together.
