Cisco’s Evolving NetFlow Export Webcast
Kennebunk, ME (PRWEB) February 14, 2015 -- Plixer International, a leading network incident response and flow forensics company, announced today that they will be presenting a webcast on the topic of Cisco’s Evolving NetFlow export on Thursday, February 26nd, 2015 at 1PM EST. Topics covered include Cisco’s evolution from NetFlow to IPFIX, how to avoid sampling, scaling massive flow collection, the next intrusion detection system, domain reputation vs IP address reputation, compliance concerns (HIPAA) and advanced NetFlow reporting. The webcast will also cover integration with Cisco ISE and CounterACT.
“Cisco’s migration from NetFlow to IPFIX will impact most companies collecting flows today. We can expect higher flow volumes and much richer details,” says Michael Patterson, Co-Founder and Product Manager of Plixer International. “I will provide nearly a dozen examples of how companies will benefit from these new flow exports. Most IT professionals aren’t even aware of what is possible with Cisco AVC. The content covered in this webcast will open their eyes to what is possible today with flexible NetFlow and from other hardware vendors who have also implemented IPFIX over NetFlow.”
The presentation will include some great information on how to avoid sampling, how to associate IP addresses to the corresponding usernames found in authentication systems like Cisco ISE. Examples will include how to use flow data to detect data exfiltration, and how to profile critical resources before setting thresholds, which trigger alarms. Scrutinizer’s most powerful features are illustrated but customers should call Plixer if they need assistance implementing anything. At the end of the presentation, there will be an open QA session.
