City Bike Designer Comments on Success of NYC’s Bike Share Program
Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) July 24, 2013 -- On July 24, city bike designer, Linus Bike, comments on the success of New York City’s bike share program, Citi Bike, two months after its launch.
According to a July 19, 2013 article published on The Epoch Times, entitled, “NY Citi Bike Program Reaches 60,000 Annual Members,” Citi Bike, New York City (NYC)’s bike share program, has reached 60,000 annual members with an average of 876 people signing up on a daily basis since the program launched on May 27th, 2013.
The article goes on to say that annual memberships cost $95 a piece, plus tax. Annual members get unlimited trips of up to 45 minutes. Those who purchase 24-hour and 7-day passes are allowed unlimited rides of up to 30 minutes. On average, 1,800 24-hour passes and 220 7-day passes are purchased daily.
The article reports that there have more than 1.1 million tracked trips since the program’s launch, with “nearly 2.5 million miles traveled.”
