City of Fort Collins Awards Contract to Scheidt & Bachmann USA, Inc. For New Fare Collection System For Their “MAX” Bus Rapid Transit System Currently Under Construction
Burlington, MA (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- The City of Fort Collins approved a contract in May for its new fare collection system for the MAX Bus Rapid Transit. The MAX Bus Rapid Transit(BRT) service which is projected to begin in Spring of 2014 and will have 19 platforms or stops and provide bus service across the north-south spine of Fort Collins partially on a separated guide way, and partially in mixed-flow traffic on City streets. Scheidt & Bachmann is now working with The City of Fort Collins on the design of a comprehensive fare collection system. The resulting solution will be both backwards compatible and flexible for future needs as well.
The fare collection technology features Scheidt & Bachmann’s FareGo System Solution, and includes all hardware, software and support. The system will consist of 21 ticket vending machines managed by the FareGo Data central server system with options to purchase up to 15 additional TVMs for future implementation. The system also includes a comprehensive backend technology with reporting tools and integration with the current fare media used by Fort Collin’s existing bus farebox system. The existing farebox system in use was previously provided by a separate provider of fare collection equipment.
The City of Fort Collins represents Scheidt & Bachmann’s second customer in the State of Colorado.
