City of Rancho Cucamonga Receives BIA’s Good Government Award

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (PRWEB) December 22, 2015 -- The City of Rancho Cucamonga has received the Good Government Award from the Building Industry Association Southern California Baldy View Chapter.

BIA Baldy View President Ali Sahabi and CEO Carlos Rodriguez presented the award to the City Council, commending the city for implementing a new online service that boosts transparency, improves communication and enhances efficiency and accountability. The service, called Accelerate, allows builders to complete tasks online, including: applying for permits and plan checks, requesting inspections, paying fees and checking on the status of development and construction projects.

“This service has resulted in faster turnaround times, more transparency and even lower overhead costs for builders due largely in part to significant time savings,” said Rodriguez.

Sahabi, president of Optimum Group LLC, said the time savings will translate to lower overhead costs. “This virtual service allows builders to take care of routine tasks without having to drive and stand in line at City Hall,” he said. “The tracking feature allows them to monitor the process in real time and avoid delays.”

This year’s Good Government Award was also given to the Inland Empire Utilities Agency, a regional wastewater facility and wholesale supplemental water supplier. Past recipients of the award have included the cities of Upland, Fontana, Hesperia, and County of San Bernardino.
