CK-12 Integrates with Blackboard’s Teaching and Learning Solutions to Offer, High-Quality STEM Content and Tools to Schools
Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) April 13, 2015 -- The CK-12 Foundation today announced that it’s free, high-quality STEM content and tools will be available to students and instructors using Blackboard’s industry-leading teaching and learning solution.
Through this integration, schools and districts that use Blackboard’s leading teaching and learning solutions will now be able to discover, access, and build courses leveraging CK-12’s content. CK-12’s world class K-12 STEM platform offers creative, engaging content and flexible authoring tools to help students learn more than 5,000 critical math and science concepts using multiple modalities, including text, video, images and real-world simulations.
CK-12, used by millions of students globally, provides a high quality combination of adaptive STEM practice material and recommended learning material at no cost, freeing teachers and parents from the burden of paying for content. Until now, no cost education content like CK-12 has been available only to schools via downloads, teacher by teacher. Through this integration, CK-12 now has an open path for their content to be adopted by school districts across the country.
“Teachers globally are looking for content solutions to differentiate their instruction,” said CK-12 Founder and Executive Director Neeru Khosla. “Through this integration, we are empowering teachers that use Blackboard solutions to create a truly personalized learning experience for their students to help them learn at their own pace, in their own style, all for free.”
“We are excited to expand the scope of our digital content partnerships to include CK-12,” said Jim Hermens, vice president of business development at Blackboard. “This integration helps us easily provide even more interactive and engaging digital content to classrooms all over the world, thereby encouraging student engagement and success.”
