Clayton County Property Owners Forming Airport South CID
ATLANTA, Georiga (PRWEB) February 26, 2015 -- A new Community Improvement District (CID) south of the Airport will soon join Metro Atlanta’s 20 existing CIDs. OA Development and Ackerman & Co., both with ownership interests in the proposed area, are spearheading the effort to establish a CID. Nickel Works Consulting, lead by Nicole McGhee Hall, is guiding area property owners through the process of becoming certified as a CID.
The proposed Airport South CID is located in the northwest portion of Clayton County and borders the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The coalition of property owners is collaborating with Clayton County, the Development Authority of Clayton County and the City of College Park. On February 16, the College Park City Council unanimously approved a $50,000 request for funds for the formation of the Airport South CID.

The first CID in the Aerotropolis planning area is the Airport West CID. The Airport South CID aims to create a sense of place through beautification, signage, and infrastructure projects. It will also bolster public safety, and implement transportation improvements and alternatives to enhance mobility in the area.
“The proposed Airport South CID will work collaboratively with the Airport West CID to implement a shared vision and bring much needed improvements to the airport area,” said Hall. “Together the CIDs offer the opportunity for property owners, governments and businesses to work toward the Atlanta Aerotropolis Alliance’s vision for the Southern Crescent area."
Nickel Works is conducting outreach and expects jurisdictional approval and the election of a board of directors’ — the final steps in the CID certification process —to be complete this summer.
