Climate Change in 21st Century Could Be the Result of 18th Century Philosophers Reports Fresh Water Advocate Sharon Kleyne
Grants Pass, OR (PRWEB) September 11, 2015 -- Many of the global health challenges related to 21st Century climate change can be traced to ideas originating in the 18th Century Age of Enlightenment, according to Fresh water advocate and radio host Sharon Kleyne. These health challenges, Kleyne believes, could be alleviated by a return to ancient healing traditions that existed prior to the Age of Enlightenment – updated with modern, interdisciplinary scientific research. Kleyne calls her approach, “Water Life Science®.”
Until the mid-1700’s, Kleyne explains, medical healing was deeply imbued in spirituality, ancient healing arts and the concept of “living in harmony” with one’s body and with the natural rhythms of the planet. Double-blind medical research was virtually non-existent. Then came the “Age of Enlightenment,” and while their new approach to science cured many diseases (and produced the American Democracy), the ancient notion of “living in harmony” was forgotten.
Kleyne will discuss ancient healing arts, harmonious living, medical research and the Age of Enlightenment on her Sharon Kleyne Hour™ Power of Water® radio broadcast of September 21, 2015. For the live show or a podcast, go to http://www.SharonKleyneHour.com.
The syndicated broadcast, hosted by Kleyne, is heard weekly on VoiceAmerica’s Health and Wellness, and Variety Channels, and on Apple iTunes. The education oriented show is sponsored by Bio-Logic Aqua® Research – Water Life Science®, founded by Kleyne and specializing in fresh water, the atmosphere, body surface evaporation and dehydration. The Research Center’s signature product is Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® for dry eyes.
Kleyne believes that the ancients knew a lot more about the role of water in health and about living in harmony with the planet than is known today. This shift in emphasis can be traced to the Age of Enlightenment and the works of geniuses such as Rene Descartes, Thomas Hobbes, Voltaire, Isaac Newton, Adam Smith, Karl Linneus and Thomas Jefferson. Modern science would not exist without these remarkable people.
Luminaries in the Age of Enlightenment were all proponents of a belief system originally formulated by the ancient Greeks philosophers, called “Dualism.” Dualism divides the world into either-or dichotomies: Good or bad, right or wrong, true or false, mind or body, spiritual or secular, us or them, black or white, Godly or sinful, legal or illegal, etc. Between roughly 1650 and 1850, the Enlightenment and Dualism crowded out all other approaches to science and philosophy.
Prior to the Age of Enlightenment, according to Kleyne, a more traditional mystical approach, called “Monism,” prevailed for thousands of years. Instead of creating dichotomies, Monism attempted to bring apparent dichotomies together to form unities. This is best illustrated in the Yin and Yang, in which opposites are clearly identifiable but each contains a little of the other and they unite to form a whole.
Dualism is indispensable to modern medical and scientific research, including economics, and has saved million of lives. Dualism can also be polarizing when applied to religion or politics. Kleyne believes that Dualistic thinking may be an underlying cause of the divisiveness and polarization in American politics. In Monism, each side attempts to understand the needs of the opposite side and together they work out a compromise that satisfies everyone.
By rejecting unification and harmony and focusing on differences, according to Kleyne, Dualism tends to promote self-interest. In the modern world, short-sighted decisions, environmental disasters and global climate change may all be traced to Dualistic self-interest. Dualism also tends to frown on knowledge derived from any other system, including ancient healing arts and living in harmony with the planet.
In Kleyne’s view, both approaches are valid and valuable. The goal of Water Life Science® is to bring the two approaches together, with water as the unifying force, to create not only much needed medical and scientific information about water, the atmosphere, evaporation and human health but a holistic lifestyle and philosophy applicable to everyone no matter what they believe.
