Clinical Care Options Joins Forces With Free to Breathe to Double Lung Cancer Survival by 2022
Reston, Virginia (PRWEB) October 02, 2017 -- Clinical Care Options (CCO), a global leader in the development of innovative educational programs and technology platforms, has joined forces with Free to Breathe to raise funds for research and to increase the number of patients with lung cancer participating in clinical trials. Working within the framework of Free to Breathe’s 4th Annual Lung Cancer 5K Walk/Run in Brooklyn, New York, on October 22, 2017, funds raised will be used to dramatically increase lung cancer survivorship in a short span of time.
Through their CCOcares initiatives, CCO works with local and national charities to affect positive change in communities around the nation. “Free to Breathe’s aggressive and achievable goal of doubling the lung cancer survival rate by 2022 really spoke to us as an organization,” said Tina B. Stacy, PharmD, BCOP, CHCP, Senior Vice President Educational Strategy and General Manager, Oncology at CCO. “Lung cancer claims more lives each year than breast, colon, and prostate cancers combined but receives far less funding per life lost than these other types of cancer. We feel like our organization can have a large, positive impact on a number of lives by getting involved right now.”
CCO invites anyone interested in being involved to participate in person or virtually or by donating. For people living near Brooklyn, the walk/run provides a unique event in which like-minded attendees will traverse the Brooklyn Bridge together. General donations to team members, as well as virtual participation that includes fundraising, are also encouraged. CCO will donate up to $3000 to match the first $3000 raised.
