Clothing with a Conscience: Greater Goods Eco Company Launches Eco-Conscious Clothing Line that Gives 10% of Profits to Community and Youth Garden Projects
Woodville, Wisconsin (PRWEB) April 18, 2015 -- "We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone."--Ronald Reagan
Centered in the passion of service to others, Greater Goods Eco Company has launched its website (http://www.greatergoodseco.com) that features clothing that is both environmentally (the shirts are made from 100% organic bamboo, hemp and cotton) and socially responsible (10% of all profit is donated to “Grow a Row” community garden programs aimed to help provide low income families with free, fresh produce).
“When I decided to start my own company, it was a given that it was going to be environmentally sustainable,” said Nicole Severson, founder of Greater Goods Eco Company, “but I wanted it to be much more than that. I wanted a company that made its customers feel good about the products they were buying by knowing that each product was making a difference not only with the environment, but in the lives of other people, as well. Essentially, I wanted goods that served the greater good.” To accomplish the latter, Nicole decided to commit 10% of all profits toward supporting a social cause. “It seemed natural to start with supporting community and youth garden projects. After all, what better way to connect the environment and community in a positive manner?” Nicole stated.
Currently, Greater Goods Eco Company has launched the website with a line of 100% organic bamboo and cotton t-shirts that have a much lower impact on the environment than traditional cotton shirts. Ten percent of the profit from these shirts is earmarked to help support community and youth garden projects that incorporate a “Grow a Row” method--one which gardeners commit to growing an extra row of produce to donate to a local food pantry. The tees also offer positive garden-themed messages--such as Grow Your Soul, Grow Your Bliss, Grow Your Happy, and Grow Your Joy. Eventually Nicole hopes to expand on this line, as well as future product lines. “The shirts are only the first step. I envision the Greater Goods website to be a portal for a multitude of environmentally-responsible products that address several social issues.” As for today, customers can rest assured that the shirts they buy from Greater Goods Eco Company will make them feel good on the inside as well as the outside.
