CloudOpt Launches Data Acceleration Service for Amazon Web Services in Sydney, Australia
Redwood City, CA. (PRWEB) October 29, 2013 -- CloudOpt™, experts in WAN optimization for the cloud, today announced that Speed-as-a-Service™, the innovative service that delivers the most cost effective and easy to use data acceleration solution for the cloud, has expanded availability to Amazon Web Services (AWS) Asia Pacific Southeast Region serving Australia and New Zealand. Already available in Amazon’s US East, US West and European Union regions, CloudOpt has expanded to the Asia Pacific region in response to growing market demand. With the availability of Speed-as-a-Service, CloudOpt empowers AWS customers by dramatically accelerating the movement of data to or from the AWS cloud. Speed-as-a-Service has helped customers reduce data transfer times and costs by up to 90%.
Delivered as a service, costly and complex hardware or software appliances are no longer necessary. Deployable in minutes, Speed-as-Service enables AWS users to significantly enhance cloud application access and data movement. By reducing the amount of data transferred, bandwidth charges are significantly reduced. Gigabytes of data can now be moved to/from the Amazon cloud at a fraction of the cost and time that users are experiencing today.
Accelerating large transfers of data into and out of the cloud, Speed-as-a-Service is an ideal solution for:
• Near real time replication of databases across regions
• Fast Big Data uploads to the cloud
• Full daily backups to the cloud
• Rapid restoration of cloud backup data
• Migrating applications with large databases to AWS
Requiring no networking expertise, Speed-as-a-Service is accessed using an easy to install Windows or Linux client. The CloudOpt client intercepts data destined for addresses in Amazon S3 or EC2; establishes a secure and encrypted connection to the Speed-as-a-Service network in the requested region; applies compression, deduplication, and protocol optimizations; and then delivers the data to its original destination within Amazon S3 or EC2. Speed-as-a-Service remembers what data has been sent and does not resend data in subsequent transfers, which can result in over 90% improvement in transfer times.
“Australia experiences relatively high network latency when transferring data outside the region,” said Dave Burow, CEO of CloudOpt. “Speed-as-a-Service can dramatically reduce the adverse effects of high network latency for global applications as well as accelerate big data transfers in region.”
CloudOpt is offering users a free 15-day trial. This free trial can be accessed at http://www.cloudopt.com.
