Club Car's New Carryall® Utility Vehicles Go Head to Head With Competitors
Augusta, GA. (PRWEB) July 31, 2014 -- In recent testing performed by Applied Technical Services (ATS), a respected independent testing agency in Marietta, Ga., the new Club Car Carryall utility vehicle faced off against competitive models in the same class. The Carryall won in all categories, proving to be faster, more powerful and more fuel efficient.
“We understand the budget and staff reductions, increased workloads, tangled regulations and other business challenges our customers face. We developed the new Carryalls to address those challenges with small but high-performing vehicles that cut operating costs and can be used in lieu of more expensive pickup trucks. Independent tests results show that we exceeded those goals,” says Kurt Meyer, commercial marketing manager.
The following four vehicles were tested:
• Club Car Carryall 500 (404 cc)
• John Deere® Gator TX (675 cc)
• Cushman® Hauler 1200 (401 cc)
• Toro® Workman MDX (480 cc)
Hill Climbing Performance/Speed
The vehicles were weighed, calibrated and loaded with ballast during the hill-climbing performance/speed tests.
In the first test, the vehicles carried 650 lbs. (294.8 kg) total weight, which included driver plus cargo, on a 17 percent incline. The Club Car Carryall came in first, and a full 10 seconds faster than the slowest vehicle.
In the second test, the vehicles carried 1,200 lbs. (544.3 kg) total payload up the same track. Again, the Carryall outperformed all competitors, beating the Toro Workman MDX by 19 seconds.
In both cases, the Carryall outranked the competition. It proved to be the fastest when carrying heavy loads, both during the first 500 feet and thereafter.
“These tests demonstrate that Carryalls accelerate faster and move loads with greater ease and at higher speeds, even on steep inclines, than competitive models. That means less time traveling and more time working,” Meyer says.
Fuel Economy You Can Take to the Bank
When tested with 650 lbs. (294.8 kg) total weight on rolling hills, the Carryall also demonstrated much better fuel economy than competitive vehicles. The Carryall delivers 38 mpg, 10 miles per gallon more than its closest competitor and nearly twice as many as the John Deere Gator TX.
Based on 5,000 miles per year and fuel cost of $3.50 per gallon, this translates into annual fuel costs savings of up to $500 a year, per vehicle.
EFI-based Performance and Efficiency
The Carryall’s superior performance and fuel efficiency is based largely on what’s under the hood: An advanced engine with automotive features including a chain-driven over-head cam (OHC) and electronic fuel injection and ignition. This, combined with a highly-efficient drivetrain, results in a vehicle that outperforms competitors with larger engines.
Since there’s no choke or carburetor, the vehicles start right up, despite weather or altitude. They also reduce emissions, improve reliability and cut maintenance costs.
