CME Outfitters Announces New Live and On Demand Activity on Transplant Medicine
Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) December 02, 2016 -- CME Outfitters (CMEO), a leading accredited provider in continuing medical education, announces a new Live and On Demand activity on transplant medicine entitled, Improving Outcomes Through Proactive Monitoring of Transplant Patients. Developing strategies to extend the life and functionality of every allograft is the current goal of transplant medicine and immunology and while outcomes of renal and liver transplantation have improved, allograft loss remains a substantial problem associated with increased morbidity, mortality, and costs. Currently, some of the biggest challenges in transplant medicine are identifying the pathologic pathways responsible for allograft loss and developing targeted therapeutic interventions. Education for clinicians about the various factors that can result in allograft loss and optimal treatment can greatly improve the quality of life of transplant patients.
It is essential to medication adherence and monitoring to involve the patient as an active participant in treatment. In order to best represent the challenges faced by patients in their transplant journey, this CMEO Live and On Demand activity - supported by educational grants from Astellas and Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation – will center around audio responses from interviews with patients who have received a transplant. Their experiences will complement the discussion with expert faculty members, Lewis W. Teperman, MD, FACS, Vinay Nair, MD, and Pamela E. Hill, ANP-BC, CCTC, regarding the latest evidence on antibody-mediated complications, regular monitoring strategies to optimize immunosuppression, and engaging patients in discussions to promote adherence and improve outcomes.
Following the webcast, the expert faculty will host a live Q&A session during which participants can call or send in their questions directly to the experts and find the answers they’ve been looking for. Registration is open and is free of charge after complimentary account activation at http://www.cmeoutfitters.com/CM20169.
The premiere date of this live activity is Thursday, December 15th, 2016 at 12:00pm ET, with the Q&A session beginning at 1:00pm and ending at 1:30pm. A taped re-air will play at 4:00pm - 5:30pm ET and an enduring On Demand webcast will be launched at a later date. For more information on this activity or to register, click here.
