CME Outfitters to Premiere Live Webcast on Treating Inflammatory Disease
(PRWEB) June 05, 2017 -- CME Outfitters (CMEO) is excited to announce the latest CMEO Live and On Demand Webcast entitled, An Evolving Treatment Landscape for Inflammatory Disease: Debating Interchangeability, Efficacy, and Safety of Biosimilars, featuring expert faculty moderator, Leonard H. Calabrese, DO. This live webcast, supported by an educational grant from Pfizer Inc., will premiere on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 12:00 – 1:30pm ET, with a taped re-air from 4:00 – 5:30pm ET.
In the United States, the increase in healthcare spending is ahead of the rest of the economy, and many biologic agents – which are highly effective in the treatment of inflammatory diseases - are restricted by health care plans due to high costs. Biosimilars are biopharmaceuticals that have been designed specifically to mimic existing approved biologic products for a lower cost. Although biosimilars have been available overseas since 2005, the United States has only recently approved its first biosimilar monoclonal antibody, infliximab, for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), adult ulcerative colitis (UC), psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis (PsA), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), and adult and pediatric Crohn’s disease (CD).
For this activity, CME Outfitters integrated the patient voice directly into the educational content, providing a unique learning opportunity for participating clinicians, as they will be able to hear the concerns and issues real patients with inflammatory diseases are dealing with in regards to the treatment of their symptoms.
In the first 60 minutes of the webcast, expert faculty will be engaging in an evidence-based dialogue to address the various aspects of biosimilars, such as safety, efficacy, and best clinical practices. Throughout the presentation, participants will have the unique opportunity to submit their questions directly to the faculty, who will be answering them during a 30-minute live Q&A session immediately following the conclusion of the activity.
Pre-registration is now open for this CE activity, and there is no fee to sign up. For more information or to register, click here.
