Joining the firm are Roger D. Scales as of counsel, Dan G. Blake, Jr. and Jeffrey W. Hodges, both as associates. Scales will head the firm’s oil and gas section.

Scales, a 25-year veteran of the oil and gas industry, has built an extensive oil and gas practice focusing on matters involving title examination, due diligence title reviews, and the negotiation and evaluation of all manner of oil and gas agreements, including leases, pooling agreements, right-of-way/easement/surface use agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and joint venture and joint operating agreements. Scales has also assisted clients in matters involving wind energy, solar energy and groundwater leasing. He is licensed in Texas, Ohio and North Dakota. Blake focuses his practice primarily on oil, gas and mineral law, advising exploration and production companies on a variety of matters. He is licensed in both Texas and Ohio. Hodges is experienced in title examination and rendering advice to operators with respect to all manner of oil, gas and mineral law issues, as well as a variety of transactional matters.
