COCM Announces Winners of Annual Greenstone Awards
Birmingham, AL (PRWEB) June 30, 2016 -- COCM (Capstone On-Campus Management) believes that part of being a responsible management provider, means making choices that are good for not only our residents, employees, and the asset, but also for the community in which we live and work. This is why, COCM created a “Greenstone” Sustainability Program to keep sustainability at the forefront of our operations. Each year, COCM communities are eligible to participate in 42 different sustainability related projects for their community, such as paperless procedures, use of “green” cleaning products, use of efficient light bulbs, etc. Each community is graded on their participation and, depending on their overall score, can achieve a status of Certified, Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum.
This year, COCM is proud to announce that 18 sites in their portfolio, were winners of a Greenstone award. Ten of those 18 sites received a Platinum certification, the highest level of achievement. Following are the institutions at which a Platinum level award was bestowed:
Bowling Green State University
Cornish College of the Arts
East West University
Florida Atlantic University
Frostburg State University
The College of New Jersey

Director of the COCM Greenstone program and Regional VP of Operations, Michelle Smith said, “COCM is pleased with the commitment the leadership at these sites has shown towards sustainability efforts. We know their achievements are making a difference today and for years to come.”
