Codan Releases the Storm and Lite for Stratus
Washington D.C., USA (PRWEB) August 16, 2015 -- Codan Radio Communications, a division of Codan Limited (ASX-CDA), has launched the Stratus Storm smartphone app and Stratus Lite as next generation capability for its Stratus product portfolio.
The Stratus Storm app enables non-radio carrying users to seamlessly communicate on their P25 network, providing a direct link into a Stratus wide area network from anywhere with cellular coverage. The app is supported on both Android and iOS platforms.
“The addition of the Stratus Storm app provides a more robust and complete Stratus Network solution, enabling new users to be added to a secure P25 network as easily as installing an app on a smartphone, at a fraction of the cost and time to add new subscriber units” said Ben Pearce, Director of Sales at Codan Radio Communications.
In addition, Codan Radio has released Stratus Lite, a compact P25 repeater/base station that has an optional expansion to a full Stratus repeater to enable future LTE (3G/4G) capability. Stratus Lite has all the strengths of a standard Codan repeater; low power consumption, ruggedness and rapid deployment, while also enabling a customer to upgrade with an LTE modem, Universal Interface Card and cellular networks optimized P25 DFSI firmware to enable P25 communications over LTE.
“Stratus Lite gives customers the ability to invest now in the future capability of their P25 network. With Stratus Lite, they receive the repeater and/or base station functionality they need immediately, then can optimize their P25 coverage area in the future with the LTE upgrade,” said Mr Pearce.
Codan has also announced the opening of a new office in Washington D.C. area to better support the large customer base in the Virginia, Washington and Maryland areas with support, service and training.
Codan is demonstrating the Stratus Storm app and Stratus Lite at APCO International, booth #1457.
