Cognidox Launch Graphical Quality Management System (gQMS) Software Solution
Cambridge, UK (PRWEB) June 10, 2015 -- Cognidox Limited, a leading provider of document control software for product development teams, has launched a new product called gQMS.
A quality management system (QMS) is a set of policies, processes, and procedures that capture the way a company creates and delivers products or services to customers. ISO 9001 is the most widely used QMS standard.
A graphical QMS (gQMS) transforms static business flowcharts and standard operating procedures into visual, interactive, and dynamic systems that people can use with a web browser. It is easier to understand complex procedures for development, procurement, manufacturing and quality control when they are visual. Employees can follow steps in the procedure more accurately, and training in new procedures is easier. The company can identify issues such as complexity or process flow bottlenecks. Compliance with regulatory standards is easier to prove.
The key elements of a gQMS are a top-level menu for navigation and process flowcharts created as Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) files. Other content, such as process descriptions, blank forms, document templates, or training videos, can be linked to the flowchart using a set of flexible “link rules” for full interactivity. Use of everyday tools such as Microsoft Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint removes any need to learn new tools to create the gQMS. Proprietary, specialised web content management features in CogniDox do the rest. The gQMS Template provided includes all the menu, JavaScript, and CSS files needed.
The aim of the gQMS is to do for business process visualisation what WordPress did for blogging – to enable the rapid creation of web pages without any need for HTML or other programming skills. The gQMS turns Quality Managers into webmasters.
The gQMS and every document or procedure it references are themselves controlled documents that are versioned, reviewed and approved. This enables compliance with regulatory standards.
Licensing for the gQMS follows an Editor / Reader model, where editors are able to create and manage procedures and everybody else in the organisation is able to read and use them.
The gQMS package is available as a standalone product for any customer just requiring a QMS solution. It can also be bundled with a CogniDox enterprise-wide document control solution.
Cognidox works with trained and certified Quality Management consultancy partners adept in providing gQMS training and/or development services. A list of current gQMS Certified Partners is available from our web site.
