Cohen Veterans Network Marks First Anniversary Having Helped 1,700 Veterans and Families to Date
Stamford, CT (PRWEB) April 07, 2017 -- The Cohen Veterans Network (“CVN”) has treated 1,700 veterans and military family members in one year of operations. Five CVN clinics are open around the country, with the first two now approaching one-year anniversaries.
The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics are seeing entire families as promised. Among the first 1,700 clients, 63% are veterans, while 37% are family members including children.
A look at the CVN veteran client population shows that more than 10% come to the clinics with other than honorable discharge status. Female veterans make up 24% of our total veteran group, more than double the percentage of women that comprise the entire veteran population in this country.
“We are thrilled that the CVN model has proven to break down many barriers to care in our first year. Our clinics are here for all veterans, regardless of where and how long you served, or how your time in the military ended,” said Cohen Veterans Network President & CEO Dr. Anthony Hassan. “Just as important is our emphasis on the entire family. We firmly believe that treating everyone in the home is the answer to helping veterans and families get better.”
CVN clients are also getting access to treatment within one week of contacting our clinics. Nearly 90% of clients have their first visit within one week.
The early success of five pilot clinics, in San Antonio, Dallas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and New York, has led to a second round of clinic expansion. New locations in Washington, D.C, Fayetteville, N.C. and El Paso, TX will open this summer. The network is also committed to opening clinics in Denver and Killeen, TX later in the year, and is considering several additional sites by the end of 2017. By 2019 the network will have 25 clinics in operation.
The Dallas clinic was the first to launch CVN Telehealth, a new component this year. This method of service delivery allows for access to care via a secure, HIPAA compliant, online video session between a clinician and a client. Telehealth is another way to break down barriers to care and reach clients in more rural areas.
