Collaborative Law Practitioner Jeffrey Fink Tapped to Help Shape Collaborative Law Guidelines
Wellesley, MA (PRWEB) July 31, 2014 -- Jeffrey Fink, an experienced and creative collaborative law attorney, has been invited to work with the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council to participate in a committee developing new guidelines for collaborative resolution of legal disputes other than divorces (civil disputes).
“I’m excited to be involved, because I’m dedicated to serving the interests of the people of Massachusetts,” said Fink of the announcement. “Collaborative law is an exciting field right now. In many cases, the best way to resolve a business dispute incorporates Collaborative techniques, and there’s no doubt that it’s often an efficient alternative to no-holds-barred litigation. We need to start encapsulating our thinking about guidelines for practice without locking ourselves into a dogmatic approach. It can potentially assist in a wide range of legal disputes, including estate matters, family business issues, succession issues, partnership conflicts (“business divorce”) and commercial disputes. There are already detailed guidelines in Massachusetts on how to approach a Collaborative divorce; we need to take the best ideas out there and be flexible in adapting them to resolve other kinds of issues.”
Mr. Fink’s practice focuses on collaborative law and other dispute resolution techniques such as arbitration and mediation in a wide range of family, business and personal matters. He also serves as a business attorney for companies, individuals, venture funds and even small investment banks. His Kung Fu Mediation blog has an international following.
A graduate of the Columbia University School of Law, Mr. Fink is a collaborative attorney and Co-Chair of the Civil Committee of the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council.
