Boston, MA (PRWEB) September 13, 2016 -- Student club leaders and their members returning to college campuses across the country can say goodbye to cold calling, bake sales and other fundraising efforts, by simply opening the door to job opportunities for their club members from Door of Clubs.
The student club fundraising tool and campus recruiting platform has allocated $100,000 to give away to student clubs interested in raising money this Fall Semester.
Student club fundraising on campus has never been easier:
- Club presidents and leaders simply visit Doorofclubs.com to set up a club profile and click on the ‘raise money’ button.
- They then choose a fundraising goal based on the number of club members they plan to sign up on Door of Clubs. Door of Clubs calculates the club size, school and region of the country, and assigns a dollar amount for the number of students that sign up.
- Once a goal is set, club leaders can upload a list of their club members’ emails to prompt them to sign-up.
- Finally they note who Door of Clubs should make the check payable to and their address. Once a club hits its goal on sign-ups a check is in the mail.
Kosi Uzodinma, a student at the University of Georgia, has taken advantage of the opportunity to quickly raise money through Door of Clubs for Minorities in Tech, a student club he founded.
“We’re a new club and have no national affiliation so fundraising could have been very difficult for us if it wasn’t for Door of Clubs,” said Kosi. “Less than a week after signing up we had raised $550. Best of all, my club members were amazed by how many job opportunities they were already starting to get. It’s a win-win, raising money for our collective effort by simply getting my members to do something that will improve their job prospects upon graduation.”
Puja Soni, the leader of Women in Computing Sciences, a student club at University of Virginia, has also quickly found fundraising success through Door of Clubs.
“I found out about Door of Clubs over the summer and we set up our profile for the club in August,” said Puja. “I prompted my club members to sign up via our weekly club newsletter and we quickly raised more than $400 before Fall Semester was fully underway.”
Jefferson Akpona, a club member within the Black Engineering Student Society at Northeastern University, has witnessed the personal benefits of signing-up with Door of Clubs.
“I was finishing classes to graduate this summer and was prompted by my club president to join Door of Clubs,” said Jefferson. “I signed up and a few days later I was alerted that a company was interested in speaking with me. Two-days later I had an interview and the day after that a job offer - all before I handed in my last college assignment.”
More than 500 clubs from over 140 universities are currently on the Door of Clubs platform, including Carnegie Mellon National Society of Black Engineers, Notre Dame Society of Women Engineers, Caltech Robotics Team, Harvard Computer Society, Boston College Women in Business and many more. Last Spring Semester alone, over three thousand connections were made with some of the 300,000 young women and minority club members that are majoring in STEM fields across the country.
