Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry Emerges From Collins, McDonald & Gann, With New Partners and Added Practice Areas
Mineola, New York (PRWEB) February 12, 2016 -- Collins, McDonald & Gann, the longtime criminal defense and regulatory law firm co-founded more than 25 years ago by former Nassau County Assistant District Attorneys Rick Collins, Bob McDonald and Marc Gann, has expanded the firm. Now known as Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry PLLC, the firm has added two new partners and expanded into a number of new practice areas — including Elder Law and Personal Injury Law — forming strategic partnerships with a number of attorneys both locally and nationally as part of the firm’s major expansion. The firm will continue to work with California lawyers Alan Feldstein and Bob Danko in the area of dietary supplements and FDA law.
The two new partners, Gerard McCloskey and David Barry, replace Bob McDonald, who has been elected as a New York Supreme Court justice and began his new role on January 1. The firm’s expansion comes on the heels of its 25-year anniversary last year, and reflects its longstanding commitment to serving the growing legal needs of clients both in New York and throughout the country. In addition to the new partners, the firm has formed an Of Counsel relationship with top Florida attorney Tama Kudman, as well as formed an Of Counsel relationship with the Ansanelli Law Group, a leading Elder Law firm based on Long Island.
“As one of the region’s most established law firms, we have spent the past 25 years working to protect the rights of our clients by providing skilled, personalized legal counsel,” says Founding Partner Rick Collins, who spearheads the firm’s regulatory practice group and maintains a niche national practice in the area of performance-enhancing substances. “As the needs of our clients, and the population in general, continue to grow and evolve, we felt it was important to be able to offer clients the opportunity to obtain experienced legal counsel in a greater number of areas under our firm umbrella, and we have expanded to meet these growing needs both on Long Island and nationwide.”
The firm’s expansion includes the following additions:
• Creation of Elder Law practice group
As Of Counsel to the firm, Vincent Ansanelli — founding and managing partner of the Ansanelli Law Group — and his team of experienced elder law attorneys will be spearheading the new elder law practice group at the firm, handling trust and estate matters, from simple wills to Medicaid applications and complicated probate and administration proceedings.
• Creation of Personal Injury practice group
New partner David Barry will be spearheading the new Personal Injury practice group, handling personal injury lawsuits including car accidents, construction accidents, and slip and fall accidents. David Barry brings years of experience in handling complex personal injury cases in courts throughout New York City and Long Island, and has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of his injured clients. He will now provide experienced personal injury legal counsel to clients under the umbrella of Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry.
• Expansion into Medical Fraud and Health Care Crimes arena, with satellite office in South Florida
Through a new Of Counsel relationship with Tama Kudman — one of the country’s top federal white collar criminal defense lawyers, licensed in Florida, New York and New Jersey — the firm will expand its work in federal criminal defense, and add additional experience in the areas of health care crimes and medical fraud cases. The Of Counsel relationship will also establish a satellite office in the Palm Beach area of South Florida, as well as an office in midtown Manhattan.
“The addition of our new partners, along with our important new Of Counsel relationships, sets us on an exciting course for the future,” says Founding Partner Marc Gann, who also served as president of the 6,000-member Nassau County Bar Association from 2010 to 2011 and has built a strong reputation over the past 25 years as one of Long Island’s leading criminal defense attorneys. “Through our expansion we not only maintain our strong reputation in the community, but move into these fast-growing practice areas needed by so many of our clients in today’s times.”
