Colorado Insurance Agent Sponsors Driver Education for 15-18 year olds to Save Lives in Colorado
Parker, Colorado (PRWEB) June 06, 2015 -- Concerned about the rising number of deaths and injuries young drivers experience, Tom Wohrley says “We need to be proactive if we want our young drivers to be safe and Driver Ed in a Box provides both parents and young drivers the tools they need to make sure these young drivers come home safely.”
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for U.S. teens. Fortunately, teen motor vehicle crashes are preventable, and proven strategies can improve the safety of young drivers on the road. In 2011, about 2,650 teens in the United States aged 16–19 were killed and almost 292,000 were treated in emergency departments for injuries suffered in motor-vehicle crashes. That means that seven teens ages 16 to 19 died every day from motor vehicle injuries.
Patrick Barrett, the foremost authority in collision-free driving and author and creator of Driver Ed in a Box states “We’re pleased to partner with Tom Wohrley and thank him for his leadership and support for our efforts to produce collision-free drivers through Driver Ed in a Box.”
Mr. Barrett also adds “Unfortunately, traditional driver education has failed to produce safer drivers as documented by the DeKalb Study, the largest federally funded study of driver education in the United States.” (Source: the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety).
Driver Ed in a Box is so effective that it guarantees its graduates drive their first year collision-free – the only guarantee of its kind in driver education.
