Columbia Southern University to Feature Oliver North at Graduation
Orange Beach, AL (PRWEB) October 17, 2014 -- Columbia Southern University is preparing for more than 3,500 graduates and guests from around the globe to attend its annual commencement ceremonies on Friday, Oct. 24 in Orange Beach, Ala.
Two graduation ceremonies will be held at the Orange Beach Event Center to accommodate approximately 700 graduates and their families and friends. There will be a ceremony at 9 a.m. and a second ceremony at 2 p.m. featuring graduates from as far away as Puerto Rico and Vietnam and many states such as Oregon, South Carolina, Florida and Maryland.
The keynote speaker will be Oliver North, a combat decorated U.S. Marine, a No. 1 best-selling author, the founder of a small business, an inventor with three U.S. patents, a syndicated columnist, and the host of "War Stories" on Fox News Channel.
Graduates will receive opening remarks from Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon, Alabama Sen. Tripp Pittman and U.S. Rep. Bradley Byrne.
"We continue to be amazed at the dedication and enthusiasm of our students who travel to the graduation ceremonies. The CSU staff, faculty and I are so proud to be part of this momentous occasion in the lives of so very many people," said CSU President Robert Mayes.
There will be an open house at the CSU facility on University Lane in Orange Beach from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 where faculty and staff will greet graduates and guests. Immediately following the open house, CSU will host a family-friendly reception at the Gulf State Park Beach Pavilion for networking and socializing.
The graduation ceremonies are closed to the general public as both ceremonies are at maximum capacity.
CSU offers online certificate and associate, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in various fields such as human resource management, fire administration, occupational safety and health, criminal justice and business administration.
