East Lansing and Royal Oak, MI (PRWEB) November 25, 2013 -- Network, voice, and cloud services provider COMLINK and datacenter operator Liberty Center One announced today that COMLINK has completed the construction and activation of three new fiber paths into Liberty Center One’s datacenter in Royal Oak, Michigan.
The expansion provides more diversity and more choices of cloud and transport services for businesses with facilities located in the datacenter. COMLINK’s presence at Liberty Center One will also enable Liberty to provide another resource to its customers for leading edge services such as Optical Wave, Ethernet, DS1, DS3, OCx and DSL, as well as an array of voice services such as PRI, SIP, Long Distance, Conferencing and Hosted VoIP.
"Liberty Center One is a big proponent of continuous improvement," says Pat Turner, Chief Technology Officer for Liberty Center One. "COMLINK’s introduction into our network portfolio provides us with another proven carrier to bolster our uptime guarantees to our customers. A significant factor in our decision was that COMLINK is actually building three independent fiber paths into our datacenter, and each traverse diverse routes back to three independent point-of-presence facilities. The added level of redundancy this will provide to our customers was a huge value to us."
The addition of fiber routes into the Liberty Center One facility is part of COMLINK’s ongoing strategy to expand its presence throughout its five-state region, and especially in the metro Detroit region. COMLINK has more than 800 miles of fiber serving businesses in the metro Detroit region. The company recently completed construction of a new network in Royal Oak that connects city buildings, district schools and area businesses with access to high-speed fiber connectivity, part of a unique public-public-private partnership between the Royal Oak Schools, the City of Royal Oak and COMLINK.
"COMLINK is strongly committed to providing next-generation cloud services and network connectivity to business and organizations in the Greater Detroit region," said Barry Raterink, Vice President of Business Development for COMLINK. "Our presence in the Liberty Center One facility is a key part of that strategy and also provides another bulletproof datacenter for our customers."
COMLINK also recently acquired the fiber network assets of Michigan Lightwave, which provided fiber and telecommunications service throughout Macomb County. The Macomb County network was originally built to provide high-speed connectivity among all the schools, ISD, city and county buildings within the county.
COMLINK’s commitment to serving the state of Michigan is especially evident in the healthcare sector. In October, the company completed a HIPAA-compliant network constructed to connect healthcare facilities throughout Michigan and launched its Medisphere division to support healthcare providers throughout the Midwest with secure and reliable high-speed network services. COMLINK was awarded the contract by the Michigan Public Health Institute to deploy a multimillion-dollar optical broadband network to connect public and non-profit healthcare facilities in underserved areas of Michigan.
"As a solutions based provider, we firmly believe in providing our customers with choices," said Tim Mullahy, Managing Director at Liberty Center One. "COMLINK is an exceptional option for us and for our customers to address their connectivity needs."
