Commdex Selected by M2M Spectrum Networks, LLC for Network Build-Out
New Hope, PA (PRWEB) April 17, 2014 -- Commdex has been selected by M2M Spectrum Networks to provide engineering expertise for the build-out of what will become the nation’s first purpose-built network designed specifically for machine-to-machine communications. The network roll out will occur in multiple phases, with the first sites being commissioned in second quarter of 2014. The network is expected to cover 75% of the US population by the end of 2015, and 95% by the end of 2016.

M2M technology has the potential to substantially improve production and efficiency by letting the devices automatically manage the key metrics of the devices. Under this contract, Commdex is responsible for an array of services including RF engineering, frequency coordination, network design, and deployment & optimization. Today, the majority of machine to machine networks operate on legacy 2G networks, for which all US carriers have now announce a “sunset.” This build-out will result in a stable, low cost, nationwide M2M network with the capacity to support the technology and applications required to drive communications of the future.
