Committee members and Judges of the competition are preparing to announce this year's winners of Made In New York Jazz Competition.
Manhattan, NY (PRWEB) November 29, 2014 -- It is another great year for Made In New York Jazz competition! The competition makes its road with amazing artists from 44 countries. Recently the competition became number one Jazz Competition in Google. This year public voting process has officially ended and now the Committee members and the judges are working hard to make the decision! The winners will be announced in a coming weeks.
There have been many jazz contests held through the years, but the one created by the Made In New York Jazz Competition is unique. Mikhael Brovkin, the founder of the competition, explains. “There are many great international jazz talents who we may never know of because of their lack of access to the world jazz stage, but the Internet has changed all that. It wouldn’t be possible 3-4 years ago. The technology today is amazing. Social media revolutionized many industries and it is time for jazz now! ”
At this stage in the competition, there have already been entries submitted by musicians from all over the world and the judges (saxophonist Joe Lovano, trumpeter Randy Brecker and drummer Lenny White), each of whom are world famous, have joined the board of Made In New York Jazz Competition.
Since launching in January 2013, the site has garnered more than 22,000 registered users, more than 450 registered artists from 44 Countries!
This year Made in New York Jazz Competition announced a partnership with Kawai America for the second year running. To the victors go the spoils, and those spoils will come in the form of prizes from a world-class musical instrument manufacturer. In addition to covering the airfare required for the winner to travel to New York City to perform in the competition’s closing gala celebration, Kawai will also be presenting the 1st Prize winner with a state of the art MP 11 stage piano…the finest piano experience in a professional stage piano.
In May 2014 Jazz musicians from all over the world took the stage in front of a full house of about 1,000 people at the Jazz Gala in New York. The concert capped off the Made in New York Jazz Competition, and featured the winners, first runner-up and finalists of the contest, among other performers. International jazz groups, and solo instrumentalists and vocalists alike performed on a stage where the static charge of the musical electricity ran through everyone in the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. The charge was created by the chemical reaction of young, talented musicians mixing for a short time before they bubbled over on stage.
“So many talents from different corners of the world who may not speak the same language understand each other by playing jazz,” says Yaacov Mayman, Art Director of the competition. “Not everybody will succeed in this contest, but at least the competition will give everyone a chance to be discovered.”
The explosion of interest in Made In New York innovative jazz competition has turned the website into a jazz hub for communities of interest from fans to record producers. The platform has demonstrated a tremendous level of global user-engagement that is benefitting the international jazz community.
“I’m incredibly impressed with the level of worldwide talent we’re seeing, said Made in NY Jazz Competition founder Mikhael Brovkin. “The level of talent and creativity from around the world is amazing. Jazz continues to evolve globally and these bands and soloists reflect some very strong Jazz DNA.”
