Communities In Schools Ranks No. 1 Among Best Nonprofits to Work for in 2018
ARLINGTON, Va. (PRWEB) April 02, 2018 -- The national office of Communities In Schools (CIS), which empowers at-risk students to unlock their potential so they can stay in school and shape a path toward a brighter future, has been ranked No. 1 on the national list of the “Best Nonprofits to Work for in 2018.”
The designation comes from The NonProfit Times (NPT), the country’s leading publisher of news, information and research about the nonprofit industry. The annual list is compiled after participating employers submit a nomination containing an employee survey and a profile of their benefits, culture, compensation, workplace policies and demographics.
Communities In Schools President & CEO Dale Erquiaga called this year’s top ranking a demonstration of a strong and positive workplace culture built over decades by the national office staff and CIS National Board.
“It is gratifying for me to see our staff honored for their hard work, strong values and commitment to our core mission of helping at-risk youth succeed in school and life,” said Erquiaga. “Having just joined this organization a year and a half ago, I am also humbled to be part of a team which is recognized as a leader in nonprofit workplace culture.”
The number one designation represents a steady climb in the rankings for the organization. CIS ranked 15th overall in 2015, moved up to 10th in 2016 and placed second overall last year.
“It comes as no surprise to me that an organization whose culture is predicated on respect, tolerance and integrity would produce an environment in which people thrive year after year,” said CIS Board Chair Elaine Wynn.
