Community Foundation of Collier County Announces Celebration of Philanthropy 2015 Honorees
Naples, FL (PRWEB) January 21, 2015 -- The Trustees Emeriti of the Community Foundation of Collier County and the Naples Daily News announce the Celebration of Philanthropy 2015 - a salute to individuals, nonprofit organizations, corporations and civic groups that demonstrate passion about charitable giving and inspire others to do the same. The event takes place on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at the at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club - 851 Gulf Shore Blvd. N. in the River of Grass Ballroom.
In 2015, the Community Foundation celebrates its 30th Anniversary – growing from a small nonprofit with a $300,000 endowment to a leading foundation with $87 million in assets and grantmaking power of $71 million to date. The Community Foundation mission: to improve the quality of life in Collier County by connecting donors to community needs and providing leadership on critical community issues…for good and forever.
“The Trustees Emeriti are dedicated to this mission and collectively represent over 188 years of service as board members for the Community Foundation,” explained Trustee Emeriti and event Chair, Dottie Gerrity. “When we served as board members, the Trustees Emeriti were instrumental in making decisions that changed our community for the better. We have helped direct millions of dollars to nonprofits that successfully serve the unmet needs of Collier County residents. At the Celebration of Philanthropy 2015 we will applaud four extraordinary honorees that inspired us with their stories and their dedication to improving the quality of life in the place that we call home.”
The 2015 Honorees:
Robert C. Cosgrove Award 2015 – Acknowledging individuals who represent devotion to human values, families and the well-being of our community. 2015 Honoree: Jerry F. Nichols
Harvey Kapnick Award 2015 – Harvey Kapnick believed that the stronger our nonprofits become, the greater the impact of every charitable dollar. To that end, this award recognizes a nonprofit that has distinguished itself by exemplifying program excellence. 2015 Honoree: St. Matthew’s House
Outstanding Corporate Philanthropy Award 2015 – Recognizing an organization that consistently helps support our community by making intelligent use of its own strengths and social capital. 2015 Honoree: Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce.
Excellence in Civic Leadership Award 2015 – Sponsored by the Naples Daily News – Recognizing a civic organization whose members’ volunteer service to a program or project in our community has had demonstrable impact. 2015 Honoree: The Rotary Club of Naples. This is a new award for 2015.
