Competition Open to Veteran-Owned Start-Ups
HOUSTON (PRWEB) November 29, 2017 -- The largest business competition for military veterans is looking for new entrepreneurs.
Applications are now being accepted for the 2018 Veterans Business Battle. The event gives military veterans an opportunity to pitch their business plans to a panel of investors for a chance at investments, business partnerships, and prize money. In the last three years, more than $2.5 million of investment offers have been extended to finalists.
“We have veterans grow their business after this competition from small start-ups to thriving businesses,” said Veterans Business Battle Chairman Mark Martin. “We want to help connect veterans with the best financing options, business mentors and tools to enable their success. We can’t wait to see what innovations and businesses our contestants have this year.”
To apply, applicants must submit a business plan on the competition website, http://www.vetbizbattle.com, by Feb. 1. Businesses must be majority owned by an honorably discharged military veteran living in the United States. Early-stage businesses and existing companies needing growth capital are both encouraged to apply.
Finalists will be invited to make their business pitch April 13-14 at Rice University. All types of businesses are encouraged. Previous winners have included retail products, a commercial drone business, technology firms and more.

Veterans Business Battle was established in 2015 by a group of Houston entrepreneurs and Rice University’s Veterans in Business Association.
