Complimentary Kids Bike Workshops at a Halfords Near You
Manchester, UK (PRWEB UK) 3 July 2013 -- A puncture, slipped chain or wobbly handlebars will be a thing of the past for cycle savvy youngsters who sign up for a free bike maintenance workshop at Halfords.
The country’s biggest cycle retailer is offering children across Scotland the chance to learn basic bike repair and maintenance skills free of charge.
Each kid’s bike workshop, starting at 11am, every Wednesday in July, will last approximately an hour and is aimed at the 7-11 year olds age group. The aim of the practical, interactive courses is to teach kids how to check that their bikes are safe to ride and even how to do some basic repairs.
The workshop will include a tutorial and demonstration taking children through the basics of things to check on their bike, including how to find and fix a puncture, how to put a chain back on and how to adjust a saddle and handlebars and also basic bike safety.
This provides a fantastic starting point for kids and adults to try out together what they have learnt when they get back home. What’s more, kids come away with a certificate, a 10% discount voucher and a drawing competition to win a bike. Now that should keep them occupied for a few hours!
Halfords Area Manager, Derek Gillies said: "The kid’s bike workshops introduce learning about bikes in a fun and interactive way which will hopefully develop into a life-long interest. The sessions provide a great starting point for children and even parents, to go home and try out what they have learned together on their own bikes."
Sessions will be run by staff from the Halfords Bike Shops.
Spaces for the workshops are limited so to avoid disappointment book online today at: http://www.halfords.com/bikeclub (children must be accompanied on the workshop by an adult).
As the country’s biggest cycle retailer, Halfords sells a range of cycles from Halfords.com scooters to BMX’s. Fixie Bikes at Halfords are also a popular choice amongst avid cyclists.
