Comprehensive Senior Care Application Launched on Apple App Store
Reston, VA (PRWEB) November 21, 2014 -- Launched today on the iTunes App Store, the Elder Care App (ECA) is an all-in-one senior care coordination tool designed to make tracking and sharing updates and data on loved ones simple and intuitive for family members and caregivers (e.g. physicians home care aides, or adult day care centers). Now, the family caregiver or home health aide providing care for a senior can track their daily activities, health data, medical records, goals, schedules, and even final plans in one mobile application, and then share that data with family members and doctors.
In addition to creating care networks of family members and healthcare workers, the application offers a number of other unique and helpful features. Upon opening the app, a user will have the ability to create a senior’s profile or join an established care network. The user will have the ability to immediately enter and share data on seniors in their care.
Data can be entered and shared in the following areas:
-Tracking and sharing daily living information (e.g. when a senior slept, meals and diets, grocery lists, schedules, tasks, and goals)
-Tracking and sharing of medical information (e.g. medication administration, record of vital signs, and full medical records)
-Recording and sharing final plans (e.g. advanced directives, notifications of accounts, and funeral plans)
-Building care networks and sharing data using a permissions-based model (e.g. create events and send invitations, send messages to your care network, create and assign tasks, and determine access levels for each user)
“By 2030, almost 1 out of every 5 Americans will be 65 years or older. This dramatic shift in the aging of our nation’s population will require more coordination and communication between caregivers,” said Dr. Devin Jopp, Founder of the Elder Care App (ECA). “ECA is designed to help bridge the gap in communication between family members and caregivers. The goal of this app is to help make sure that we can improve the care for our loved ones by ensuring everyone on the care team has the same information at the same time.”
The Elder Care App (ECA) is available in the iTunes App Store today. The iPhone app requires a login but is free to download and use. An Android version of the application is currently in development and slated to be available by the end of the year.
