Computer Connection of CNY, Inc. Expands Business of Responsibly Recycling Electronic Waste
UTICA, NY (PRWEB) June 04, 2014 -- Computer Connection of CNY, Inc. (Computer Connection) announced that it has officially received R2 | ISO 14001:2004 Certification which is the highest industry standard for responsible recycling of electronic waste according to environmental health and safety measures.
R2 | ISO 14001:2004 Certification (commonly referred to as Responsible Recycling Certification) provides annual auditing and verification of Computer Connection’s environmentally responsible and transparent management of electronic components. These components include, but are not limited to: servers, storage systems, hard drives, computers, computer accessories, and miscellaneous consumer electronics. This Certification also ensures that data on hard drives and other storage devices is properly sanitized or destroyed in accordance of the Department of Defense standards.
“Our organization was founded as an IT resale company of new and refurbished hardware. It only made sense to branch out and offer a responsible means for us and our clients to dispose of end-of-life electronics equipment, as well as ensure that their data wasn't compromised during the process,” said Scott Fluty, Chief Executive Officer and President at Computer Connection.
Computer Connection was recommended for this certification in early January 2014. The rigorous third party audit included over 50 areas of operational and environmental performance over a course of a year, in 2 stages. Each stage of the audit measured internal documentation of procedures and how those procedures are executed within the facility.
